Eleta Eye
Institute
Eleta Eye Foundation (EEF) is a charitable
not-for-profit incorporated trusteeship, whose major
goal is to prevent blindness, support the development of
eye health services and improvement of vision for those
who see imperfectly by promoting the highest level of
eye care for the public. The Foundation has oversight
function over Eleta Eye Institute. The Institute
existence is a result of a synergetic and collaborative
efforts of Dr. BGK Ajayi, and the then Archbishop of
Ibadan, Archbishop Emeritus Alaba Job. It became
operational in the year 2008 at the Eleta area, Academy,
Ibadan.
EEF supports and manages Eleta Eye Institute, Ibadan and
its annexes in Oyo State – Akef Maghraby Eye Clinic,
Eruwa, the Centre for Eye Health and Innovation, Ibadan,
Atupa Eye Clinic, Iseyin, St Lucy-Imole Eye Clinic Ilora,
St. Mary Hospital, Ago-Iwoye, Centre for Eye Health and
Innovation.
EEF does not distribute profits to members. Income is
generated through grants, donations, levies, membership
fees, etc. and 100% of the income is applied solely for
the objectives of the Institue. Eleta Eye Institute (EEI)
and its annex clinics attend to about 100,000
outpatients, 50,000 outreach patients, performs over
5000 sight restorative/preservations surgeries and
dispenses over20,000 pairs of glasses yearly.
